Migrating our printed reports to an interactive, electronic format has been a challenging undertaking - one that would not have been possible without the tremendous support we have received from Ontario hospitals and our research partners.
The development of our first e-Scorecard in 2004 was co-ordinated by L. Miin Alikhan who was a Project Manager in the HRRC's University of Toronto office. Paula Blackstien-Hirsch (our project director between 1999 and 2006) and Adalsteinn D. Brown (our Prinicipal Investigator during that same period) were also instrumental in bringing the e-Scorecard concept to life.
In 2005, management of the e-Scorecard application was transferred to the HRRC's University of Waterloo offices, and is now co-ordinated by U. Lynda Schertzer. At the same time, responsibility for the calculation of Hospital Report indicator values for established reports was transferred to CIHI under the leadership of Jack Bingham and Heather Dawson whose team works in co-operation with HRRC researchers.
The e-Scorecard is implemented using technology developed ABS Systems Consultants, the vendor selected to be our solutions provider. Our thanks to Mady Chervinsky, Hannan Chervinsky, Narissa Dudar, Alexei Fox who were part of the original deployment team.
There were many individuals who contributed their time, enthusiastic support, and invaluable feedback during the alpha and beta-testing of the original e-Scorecard. These included Carol Ringer, Steve Banyai, Monica Jacobs, and Wanda McColl, Bridgepoint Health, Reta Sproule, Hanover and District Hospital, Jennifer Rodgers and the Management and Analyst Teams, Hopital regional de Sudbury Regional Hospital, Tracy Lindsay and the Executive, Management, and Analyst Teams, Rouge Valley Health System, and Roy Butler, Karen Decker, Sandra Keating, St. Joseph's Health Care London, Dexter Jones, St. Mary's General Hospital, Tena McClellan, The Ottawa Hospital, Mark Rochon, Elaine Aimone and Sally Salmastian, Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, and Char Wolfe, Windsor Regional Hospital.
