The first volume in the Hospital Report series was released in 1998 and focused on inpatient acute care services at the system level. (Information on the performance of specific hospitals is not provided.)

Performance indicators are presented for four key areas (quadrants) of hospital activity - clinical utilization and outcomes; patient perceptions of hospitals; financial performance and condition; and system integration & change.

Reporting Focus: System level.

Results are summarized by type of hospital (small, community, teaching) and/or by Ontario Hospital Association geographic region, depending upon the quadrant.
