Hospital Report 2001: Emergency Department Care is the first volume in the Hospital Report series to focus specifically on the activities of emergency departments located in Ontario's acute care hospitals.

This report was produced by researchers within the Hospital Report Research Collaborative.

Performance indicators are presented for four key areas of emergency department activities - system integration and change, clinical utilization and outcomes, patient satisfaction, and financial performance and condition.

System level.

Results are summarized by type of hospital (small, community, teaching) and/or by Ontario Hospital Association geographic region, depending upon the quadrant.
