Linda McGillis Hall, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Nursing, University of Toronto, CIHR New Investigator and a Co-Investigator with the Nursing Health Services Research Unit. She has recently received a Premier's Research Excellence Award from the Government of Ontario. Linda McGillis Hall teaches courses on measuring nursing care effectiveness and organizational behaviour. Her research interests relate to determining the effectiveness of nursing practice within the health care system. She has developed a research program studying the nursing work environment and different nurse staffing models in relation to patient safety outcomes, and the skills and knowledge needed for nurses to work effectively within the health care system. She holds funding from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) to study the links between nurse staffing models and patient outcomes in Ontario, and funding from the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care to examine indicators of quality work environments for nursing. |
