Janet Durbin, PhD, is a research scientist in the Health Systems Research and Consulting Unit at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, Toronto and Assistant Professor, Department of Psychiatry, University of Toronto. Her research is focused organization and delivery of mental health systems and services, particularly for individuals suffering from severe and persistent mental illness. She recently served as an investigator in a provincial initiative to evaluate different community mental health programs, including consumer/survivor initiatives. Janet also completed a system wide initiative to compare current and recommended service needs of psychiatric hospital patients and clients of community mental health services. She is co-lead on the mental health team for the Ontario Hospital Reports, and is currently working on development of the patient perception of care measure. She also conducts research on systems integration and continuity of care. |
